As a result of the accident, the acid in the batteries had diluted into the Tano-River which serves as the main source of drinking water to the people of Tanoso and its surrounding and also leading to the death of several aquatic animals including fishes, crocodiles among others.
It is in this direction that Municipal Chief Executive for Techiman Hon. John Kofi Donyinah after visiting the scene is strongly cautioning all communities along the Tano River including Techiman, Tanoso, Chira, Duayaw Nkwanta and Bechem not to drink the Tano river water effective today till further notice.
He is by this urging all to carry the message to other communities/people along the Tano river bank to safe human lives.
