The Techiman North District Assembly successfully convened its first quarter general assembly meeting on June 16, 2025, in compliance with the Local Governance Act. The gathering brought together key stakeholders, including District Chief Executive (DCE) Hon. Johnson Kwabena Adom, District Coordinating Director Mrs. Georgina Tumbakorah, Presiding Member Hon. Sampson Damasi, assembly members, heads of departments and units, and media representatives.
In his progress report, Hon. Adom outlined significant achievements since assuming office:
- Infrastructure Development:
- Extension of electricity to over 10 communities through government and parliamentary support.
- Inclusion of critical roads like the Offuman-Wenchi stretch in the government’s PUSH agenda for construction, facilitated by MP Hon. Lawyer Ofosu-Adjare.
- Revenue Mobilization & Governance:
- Stakeholder engagements with market women and farmers on revenue collection for development.
- Provision of identification jackets and ID cards for revenue collectors.
- Launch of a ratable property data collection exercise (beginning June 17, 2025) to develop revenue mobilization software.
- Agricultural Support:
- Distribution of 7,400 bags of fertilizer to 4,200 farmers, coordinated with the Member of Parliament.
- Sanitation & Welfare:

- Inauguration of a Sanitation Oversight Committee to revive National Sanitation Day per the President’s directive.
- Submission of assembly members’ names to the Ministry for allowance payments pledged by H.E. John Dramani Mahama.
- Full payment of outstanding allowances for assembly members since Hon. Adom’s tenure began.
The DCE commended the assembly members, staff, and stakeholders for their collaborative efforts, emphasizing their pivotal role in advancing the district’s development.
