On Tuesday 17th January, 2023, the District Chief Executive and staff of the assembly in Techiman North District were on a mission to explore new opportunities for development in the Tanoboase area. They were accompanied by a team from East-West Seed, a leading seed company known for their high-quality seeds and innovative farming solutions. The team from East-West Seed consisted of Stuart Morris and Vernice Dejong, both experienced professionals in the field of agriculture.

Upon arriving at the Tanoboase area, the team was greeted by Nana, a respected leader in the community and owner of the land. Nana provided valuable information about the land, including the total number of hectares available and the availability of water. The team was impressed with the potential of the land and saw great potential for investment.

Stuart Morris, the team leader, said, “We are excited about the possibilities this land offers. With the right investments and farming techniques, we believe this land can produce high-quality crops and improve the livelihoods of the local community.” He further stated that, the effort of the people is quite remarkable and would be glad to invest to boost the economic benefit of the District.

Vernice Dejong, the team’s agronomist, added, “Access to water is crucial for the success of any farming operation, and we are pleased to see that this land has a reliable water supply. We look forward to working with the community to develop sustainable farming practices that will benefit both the farmers and the environment.” She stated that, the selection of the site base on so many factors such as the soil type, access to water and electricity, transportation and storage facility.

The team from East-West Seed and the District Chief Executive and staff of the assembly left the Tanoboase area with a sense of excitement and anticipation. They knew that with the right investments and a collaborative effort, they could turn the land into a productive and prosperous farm.
