Techiman North District – July 17, 2025 – The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Techiman North, Hon. Johnson Kwabena Adom, continued his courtesy visits to the chiefs of Messidan, Asuyie, and Buoyem. Accompanying him were the District Coordinating Director, Mrs. Georgina Tumbakorah, all security service commanders, heads of departments and units, and other supporting staff from the district.

The chiefs visited included:

  • Nana Kwasi Twe Brempong II (Chief of Messidan)
  • Nana Oti Panin (Chief of Aseuyi)
  • Nana Asabere Kwarteng Amaniapong (Chief of Buoyem)

The purpose of the visit was twofold:

  1. Gratitude & Introduction: Hon. Adom expressed his appreciation to the chiefs for their direct and indirect lobbying efforts at the Office of the President and beyond, which contributed to his appointment as DCE. He also formally introduced the district’s departmental heads, unit leaders, and security commanders to the chiefs to foster stronger collaboration in addressing community challenges.
  2. *Awareness on Ministry’s Name Change: The DCE informed Nananom about the recent change in the ministry’s name from the *Ministry of Local Government, Decentralization, and Rural Development to the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs. He emphasized the critical role of traditional leaders as key stakeholders in community development and called for their continued support.

Chiefs’ Response & Community Concerns

The chiefs expressed deep appreciation for the visit, noting that it was unprecedented for a DCE to engage with them alongside the entire district leadership. They commended Hon. Adom for his humility and urged him to maintain diligence and hard work to elevate Techiman North as a model district.

Additionally, the chiefs highlighted pressing challenges in their communities, including:

  • Uncompleted school building projects
  • Lack of health facilities (maternity ward)
  • Need for machinery at the Aseuyi gari factory
  • Road infrastructure and Subin Bridge repairs
  • Toilet facilities, football park, and market upgrades
  • Security concerns (request for police post/station)
  • Crackdown on illicit drug sales and rehabilitation for addicts
  • Revenue generation strategies for the Aseuyi gari factory

The DCE assured Nananom of his commitment to addressing these issues in collaboration with the assembly and relevant stakeholders.
