On Thursday 26th June, 2025 the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Johnson Kwabena Adom inaugurates members of District Education Oversight Team (DEOT) for Techiman North District Assembly. In attendance were the District Director of Education as Secretary, the District Director of Health, the District Social Welfare Officer, Chairman of Private Schools, a representative of Presbyterian School, a representative of District Chief Imam and a representative from Traditional council.
The DCE, Johnson Kwabena Adom, express his gratitude for the inaugurating of members of District Education Oversight Team (DEOT) of Techiman North District Assembly. He said the DEOT play a crucial role in ensuring that education delivery in the district is effective, efficient and responsive to the needs of students, teachers, and the community.
The District Education Director congratulates the members by presenting the Roles and Responsibilities, and Expectations and Objectives to the members.
He expresses concern on the current challenges facing Education in the District are lack of infrastructure, furniture, shortage Teachers, and in some cases security for school materials.
The Director also said some communities are in the remote areas, roads to go there for monitoring and evaluates of Teachers sometimes not feasible. And teachers also in these communities are complaining about portable water, internet and electricity. Because of these problems’ teachers are refusing to go there, and he suggested if motivation will be given to teachers for going there.
Furthermore, he said there are some programs like Operation Drop Everything and Read (ODER), Operation Every Officer Absorb School (OEOAS) and Organize Reading Festivals have already implemented to help pupils in their studies. He expressed that some subject teachers are needed.
The DEC Hon. Adom expressed concern about the challenges and problems facing Education in district. He said there is a collaborating between the assembly and the member of Parliament Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu Adjare for building some classrooms and purchasing of school furniture for teachers and pupils in some communities
