The Bono East Region Green Ghana was launched at the Mpirisi Sacred Groove. This will go down in the annals of the history of Buoyem and the Krontire family for such an important event to take place on their land. The programme was graced by showers of blessings of rains in the early hours of the morning.
The Regional Minister Kwasi Adu Gyan, Mrs Lucy Amoh Ntim, (Regional Manager, Forestry Commission), Mr. George Padmore Mensah (Regional Coordinating Director), Hon Everson Addo-Donkor (DCE, Techiman North District), Hon. Mr Benjamin Yaw Gyarko (MCE, Techiman Municipal) Hon. Ofusu Adjare (MP, Techiman North), Mad. Georgina Tumbakorah (District Coordinating Director) and many others were all in attendance.
Daasebere Ameyaw Kwarteng Amaniampong II (Buoyemhene) chaired the occasion. At the same time, Okokyeredom Ampomah Frimpong II and Nana Serwaa Kuruwa II (Krontihene and Krontihemaa) hosted the event as custodians of the Groove.
The Techiman Traditional Council was represented by the Ahyiaemuhene (New Techiman), Sansamahene and New Onyinasehene.
Other chiefs from Buoyem were Nana Frimpong Boakye II – Gyaasehene, Nana Owusu Effah – Ankobeahene, Nana Agyei Kwarteng II – Kyidomhene, Nana Yeboah Asuama – Werempehene, Nana Osei Ampomah – Dwantoahene and the Head of the Kusasi Community of Buoyem. Nana Amea Tumfour – Akyempemhemaa and Nana Sekwaa Dwameraa – Ahenemmahemaa played the supporting role for Krontihene and Krontihemaa.
The Adikrofo of Bonya, Mangoase, Krokyia, Akonkonti and Tenabea and their as well as their people were there. Some Buoyem Krontire family members residing at Offuman were also there. The Buoyem Electoral Area Assemblymember did a yeoman’s job by mobilising the youth for the Tree Planting Exercise. The enthusiasm was great. The Youth in Afforestation in Techiman North have been deployed to take care of the trees after planting.
After the speeches by Nananom and Officials, which were very brief, the symbolic planting of the trees followed. The Omanhene also planted his tree by the MCE of Techiman Municipality, followed by Buoyemhene/Oyokohene of Techiman Traditional Area, Krontihene of Buoyem, Krontihemaa of Buoyem and others.
It was followed by the masses. It was a very successful exercise.
