
{"id":1120,"date":"2021-04-27T21:49:00","date_gmt":"2021-04-27T21:49:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tenda.gov.gh\/tenda\/?p=1120"},"modified":"2021-05-25T07:40:28","modified_gmt":"2021-05-25T07:40:28","slug":"tuobodom-business-advisory-centre-holds-a-digital-marketing-workshop-for-artisans-and-traders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tenda.gov.gh\/tenda\/tuobodom-business-advisory-centre-holds-a-digital-marketing-workshop-for-artisans-and-traders\/","title":{"rendered":"Tuobodom Business Advisory Centre Holds a Digital Marketing Workshop for Artisans and Traders"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>As part of our core mandate of shaping and boosting the capacity of SMEs and Artisanship to meet and compete with the growing trends and changes in the market space, we envisioned and embarked on a training dubbed \u2018<strong>DIGITAL MARKETING FOR SMEs<\/strong>\u2019 targeted at selected groups and parties in the Techiman North District. During an assessment on the existent of businesses on Google Map, the BAC came to the realization that, only few schools. public institution and some hospitality enterprises were visible on Techiman North District\u2019s Google map. Therefore, the BAC decided as part of promoting digital marketing among SMEs will help put most of these SMEs (mainly Artisans, drugstores, Automobile repair shops) on Google through Google MyBusiness. The BAC started the pilot phase of the training with five (5) of its clients taking them through the use of Facebook, Google MYbusiness, Instagram and WhatsApp in their businesses. &nbsp;After two (2) months of training and continuous monitoring of their activities on the platforms they were taken through, these businesses gained access to new markets and created new business models. One of the beneficiaries (Naky Clothing and Training School) transitioned from being just fashion designing to a training schools with students from not only Tuobodom but Yendi, Takoradi and Kumasi. It was for some of these numerous successes that made the BAC decide to roll out the program to cover other business owners in the district starting with the District\u2019s Capital, Tuobodom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The main objective of the training is to give business owners within the Tuobodom town training and skills in order to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"i\"><li>Improve their competence in their business establishment<\/li><li>Increase Productivity<\/li><li>Enjoy Sustainable growth in their business<\/li><li>Open new market for their business<\/li><li>Help create new business models for business<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop had in attendance forty-nine(49) Business Owners with forty-one(41) females and eight(8) males.<\/p>\n\n\n<figure id=\"attachment_1126\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1126\" style=\"width: 1433px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1126 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/tenda.gov.gh\/tenda\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Digital-Marketing.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1433\" height=\"806\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tenda.gov.gh\/tenda\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Digital-Marketing.jpg 1433w, https:\/\/tenda.gov.gh\/tenda\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Digital-Marketing-690x388.jpg 690w, https:\/\/tenda.gov.gh\/tenda\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Digital-Marketing-942x530.jpg 942w, https:\/\/tenda.gov.gh\/tenda\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Digital-Marketing-500x280.jpg 500w, https:\/\/tenda.gov.gh\/tenda\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Digital-Marketing-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1433px) 100vw, 1433px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1126\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Presentation on-going by Antwi Albert Fordjour (District IT\/MIS Officer)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n<p>The facilitators employed adult facilitation skills and a combination of other interactive and participatory training delivery methodologies in facilitating the training sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Experiential Learning methodology was used to get the participants to simulate real work situations and shared experiences and lessons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Methods applied consist of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Simulation<\/li><li>Case studies&nbsp;<\/li><li>Exercise<\/li><li>Illustrations<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The experience sharing was very effective in the delivery of the modules. Participants had the opportunity to engage in various facets of the Digital marketing experience \u2013 sharing experiences, which enriched the discussions and illustrations<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The training was a success with all participants being serious and active in all activities during the workshop. They promised to use the knowledge and skills equipped to work effectively. After the workshop, social media accounts and google MyBusiness profiles were created for 10 business owners.
